HomeYield ('we', 'us', or 'our') respects and commits to protecting the privacy of users ("you", "your", or "user") of the HomeYield real estate investment platform, website, applications, and associated products and services ("Services").
This Privacy Policy outlines clearly what personal information we collect, how we use it and disclose it, and your options regarding your information, in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
To use our Services, you must explicitly consent to this Privacy Policy. By explicitly agreeing during the registration process, you accept and agree that you have read, understood, and consented to our privacy practices as described.
Note: Our services are provided exclusively to users residing in Australia.

Personal Information collected includes but is not limited to:

- Billing/payment details via our third-party provider (Stripe) – see Section 5 below

- Browsing and interaction preferences (liked/disliked properties)
- Device information, IP address, browser type, operating system, geolocation data, and application/platform usage patterns
- Interaction data including clicks, session length, page views, timestamps and navigation events

We collect your personal and technical information:
- Directly from you when you create or update an account, purchase a subscription, complete your user profile, or interact with our platform.
- Automatically through your interactions via cookies, pixels, web beacons, analytics integrations, and tracking technologies (see section 7).

We collect and use your personal and technical information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the functionality of the HomeYield Services;
- Facilitate secure user authentication through NextAuth or third-party providers like Google;
- Process subscription payments securely via Stripe;
- Deliver personalized insights, data, and property opportunities relevant to your profile;
- Analyse interactions (via Facebook Conversion API and Google Analytics) to improve and optimize user experience;
- Provide responsive customer service, user support, and assistance;
- Provide targeted marketing, communications, or updates (if you have opted-in);
- Comply with legal or regulatory obligations under Australian laws.

We do not sell or trade your personal information for marketing purposes.

When data processing occurs overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure contractual safeguards and encryption protections consistent with Australian privacy standards.
By explicitly providing consent, you acknowledge and consent to your information's potential overseas transfer for purposes outlined.

We utilize cookies, pixels, analytics technologies (Google Analytics, Facebook Conversion API) to:

- Understand and analyse user behaviours and platform interactions;

- Object to receiving direct marketing at any point, without penalty, by opting out using provided mechanisms or contacting us.

HomeYield employs robust security measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption of sensitive communication and payment transactions (via SSL/TLS protocols);
- Secure authentication mechanisms provided by NextAuth and Google;
- Regularly updated security practices consistent with Australian standards; and
- Restricted internal access to user-identifiable data on a strictly need-to-know, confidential basis.
Nevertheless, please acknowledge that no method of electronic transmission or storage can be completely secure.
10. Data Retention
Your personal and technical data is retained only as long as required to provide our Services, to fulfil stated purposes, to comply with legal obligations or contractual agreements. Typically, after closure of an account or termination of our relationship, we delete or anonymise personal user information within 90 days, unless obligated otherwise by Australian law or regulatory guidelines.
